Kickin’ Homemade Croutons

These croutons are zesty and delicious! You will not buy a bag of croutons again once you see how easy it is to make your own. If you can’t find bolillos (a Mexican white bread) at your grocery store, simply use french, white or sourdough bread.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Slice bolillo into eight slices, then cube to desired size.  Place bread cubes in a medium deep bowl. In a small bowl add oil and all spices, with a fork mix until oil and spices are blended.

Drizzle oil mixture over the bread, and with a spatula mix and fold the oil mixture until all of the bread gets coated.

Spread bread cubes onto a baking sheet, creating a single layer of cubes.  Place in the oven for 15 minutes.  Once done, let cool then enjoy!

Makes: 6 cups
