balsamic bacon brussels sprouts

Rock Star Brussels Sprouts

Sweet and Savory these brussels are crazy delicious and highly addictive!!  The combination of the warm balsamic glaze and crispy bacon send these mini cabbages over the top! Enjoy as a side to any dish.

In a large nonstick pan cook bacon until crispy and transfer bacon to a plate lined with a paper towel and set aside.

Add olive oil into the same pan with the bacon rendering and place the brussels sprouts cut side down in a single layer. Turn heat to medium-high and cook for 5 minutes without flipping them, this will give the brussels a nice toasted brown color. *While waiting on your brussels to cook*: roughly chop 3 slices of bacon and set aside. After 5 minutes, flip the brussels over and lower heat to medium, generously season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes or until tender. Set aside until your glaze is ready.

Balsamic Glaze: In a nonstick saucepan over medium-high heat add balsamic vinegar, honey, lemon, and a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until vinegar begins to thicken, about 5-6 minutes.

Place brussels sprouts and bacon in a large serving bowl and toss with balsamic glaze. Enjoy!

Adriana’s Tip –

Tip 1:If you prefer not to use bacon rendering, you can substitute with 2 tbs. olive oil. Tip 2: Sprinkle red chili flakes to add a touch of heat!
